Smile Re: Lightweight wheels

When I switched from Weld Draglites 3 1/2" front wheels to there Weld Magnum Drag 2.0 one piece 3 1/2" wheels The difference was 7 lbs. lighter per wheel and tire. I weighed the old ones with good year 25" tall tires and the new ones with hoosier 26" tall tires. My wallet was also alot lighter! lol Darrin Christen 4878SST

I appreciate the info Darrin. I believe I remember having some close races with you a few years back in super street (could have gone either way kind of racing). Anyhow, I am probably either going with those welds or the new Pro-5 M/T fronts. I wish M/T made 15x8 or 15x10, but all they have is 16X16 for the rears...I guess I could always order one and cut it in half.

You raced a white corvette with the black nose and wheels, how could I forget! You and your brother Jeremy were always on the number. I seem to rember losing a close one to you at Noble in the late rounds a few years back. Are you guys still running SST?

We still run SST some. We run more IHRA stuff lately...more bang for your buck with double event or even triple event weekends...and they cater to the sportsman racers better. My brother has been running the vette and I just starting running my nova in Hot Rod this year with some success. The question on the wheels is really for a stocker nova I am building...not too worried about weight on my 10.90 car.
