Mark, the body style you describe is correct. The article i was reading said there were only 2 made. The one in this article is in dayton, ohio. Don't know about the 2 made though.

Go to: http://tinyurl.com/9syk6w for the El Morocco story.
The owner of a local restaurant (Granoff's) in Little Rock, Arkansas bought one of these in '57 and he parked it out in front of his business so everyone could get a good look at it. That's the only one I ever saw. Apparently they also built a few in 1956.... something like 25 El Moroccos, total, were built (approximate number.) Bill

Check out Jay Leno's Garage. ....It figures he'd have one in his collection. ........Pretty good account of the making and marketing of the cars too. ......They were apperantly custom built by an outside vendor, but marketed by Chevy dealers. ........Tom

Dick Clark Museum in Branson has a combo car like that description. It is as pictured in the article. He has one of all types of 57 cars and I had never heard of the Morroco when I saw it there.
Interesting, Thanks Dick Butler |
