They'll move profits and losses on paper, legally, to show whatever they need to show.

Further, the corporation "NHRA" may show a net loss, while every board member and silent shareholder takes home a nice hefty salary paycheck and bonuses.
Fair enough. Well put as always Mr. Roehrich.

Uh... what?

http://www.dragracingonline.com/anal..._12-tax-1.html

2008 revenue was greater than expenses by over $1.8 Million. (didn't want to use the word "profit" here)

2009 returns will be released in December.

If NHRA isnt making any money its only because the current crop of crooks running it are robbing it blind while they can.

I don't agree one single bit about NHRA Executives being what you are calling them I have talked with them and they all have always been up front with me in nearly every single situation so far, so in my opinion what you are saying is unfounded

I just happen to have a 2008 tax return for NHRA in front of me. There are a few things that stand out. First there is $20,662,736 in salaries and benefits. $122,564365 in total revenue. Some of the expenses that might raise eyebrows: $24,035950 in advertising,$15,747,739 in office expense, which doesn't include any salaries or rent, right at $10,000,000 in other or all other expenses,$4,046,243 in travel expenses, $24,235,425 for prize money and trophies, $10,946,985 to track operators [ I'm guessing this is their share for National events ]. There are 10 people with total compensation over $200,000, with Compton being the highest at $771,632, Peter Clifford at $427,274, Graham Light at $353,782 and the one that really stands out Dallas Gardner $319,073 for 10 hours a week.

As high as we may think these salaries are the real money is in the expenses and where or who it is going to. $15 mil in office expense, give me a break. Almost 10 mil in other expenses. For the amount of revenue these expenses are nuts. Looks to me like a detailed audit would be in order.
