Marty my brother have had problems with C11. When we fail fuel check we went back to pits and dumped fuel and replaced with fresh C11 only to fail again. Tech guy asked, "did you replace the fuel cell foam".....uh no we didn't. Go back dump the fuel and remove the fuel cell foam and then we passed.
We permanently switched to C12 only to pass fuel check. Since then we have used C12 in pails and C12 from underground tank with no failures.

Failed twice at Epping Nationals. Had run out of C-10 and used track sunoco. Brought 5 Gal can and it tested OK. Problem was fuel cell Foam. Removed it and no further problems. If you have foam in the cell it will hold the previous bad fuel!! No foam for ME!!!

Just a clarification. It must be a safety risk to run a fuel cell without foam.

You just can not get all the "failed" gas out of the foam when you dump the "bad" fuel so the "good" fuel is mixed with the "bad" fuel and you might fail again.

We finished that race without foam and replaced it for the next race.

First time running stock this year, what happens when you fail fuel check and when do they do it?

Fuel cell foam is not required. It is designed to slow down sloshing when braking or turning. Also you may find that "plastic" fuel cells will also cause a fuel to fail.

They usually check first or second qualifier and any heads up race. Also could be random times. If you fail in qualifying, your run gets thrown out. If you fail in eliminations, you get bounced.
