I hear you compression shouldn't hurt it at all. I was just saying that the 2 engines are just a little different. Wish I had 5 or 6 of the dime rockets hanging around. I don't think I would have trouble selling them

Look at the 86 blueprint. 165hp is a 305.

That makes more sense, and is what I think is actually correct.

Truck blueprints are below the car listings. Same heads with more cc's and different piston. Still the ultimate dime rocket (for now).

There's a 305 AND a 350. For whatever reason, the blueprint specs for car and truck motors are separated.

If you look at the 1986 Chevrolet blueprint specs...you'll see the 305/165.
If you look at the 1986 Chevrolet TRUCK blueprint specs you'll see the 350/165.

If the guide shows an '86 1/2 ton pick up with a 350" but no 305", the guide is wrong. Somebody writing the guide transposed two numbers. I have worked on easily a couple hundred 1986 1/2 ton 305"s, they are as common as dirt. I have never seem a factory 1/2 ton 350". This is Oklahoma, all these cowboys around here have at least one pick up. I have had a couple of pick ups through my shop. LOL
