You got that wrong. That is not how "our" system works. The vehicles are supposedly classified in a fair and honest manner to begin with and then nhra should make adjustments as necessary. These cars have been grossly under factored and once they run in the AA or A class that is where they will stay. Did you see SS/JA's post?

Look at the blueprint specs, X-Tech Man... Calling Kenny's car a "Cobra Jet" is like calling an SR-71 Blackbird a Piper Cub... jeesh... read the specs and tell me what you think. Additionally, I'm sure you know that Cobra Jets weren't in existence, yet, in 1967. Kenny's car is a '67 GT500. If anybody is well-prepared to do battle with these new, blown, "Cobra Jets," it's Kenny... and, you know what? I hope he gets it done; how ironic would that be???? Hee hee..... ![]()

Bruce -- Yes, I saw the post about 8.90 @150 and I'm at the Ford dealer now ordering one but they won't equip it with E-shift .....damm . And I not a fan of white...........but they said a torque arm could be put on after the letter from Carroll shows up .
Point is that NHRA relies on the manufacturer horsepower figures to classify cars -- how else would they do it ? Guessing would also not be fair........put yourself on the other side of the fence for a moment .

I thought you were a used car salesman. What ya doing at a Ford Dealership? I may have just gotten off the boat yesterday but I didn't live all night for nuth'n. You know I have been asking you to do the same thing for a week now and you never managed to see it that way.

P.S. Kennys CJ Shelby is a '68 model with the larger 428 CJ heads. Hawks is a '67 428 (non Cobra Jet) with 390 type heads.

Thanks Junior, I hurt the engine just before Indy. I will be there this year for sure.
Bill technically its not a CJ, but it does run CJ iron heads. It does have more compression and a bigger carb, but the cam specs are the same. I guess the name on the side confuses people, but I kind of like the silly snake and the CJ name. Its going to be tough to run with them as it will be with Barton's Hemi, John Shaul and the bad *** Corvette driven by Steve Calabro. Bill, there are many who also want my car combo to be gone, so I guess I have a little sympathy for the new CJ. Terry, you must have lots of time on your hands these days, your on here more then me....lol |

Heh heh Yeah....Im back working at a Govt. job and have the "pooter" on all day watching all of this stuff going on. It helps the day go by after being retired for 7+ years. Working again sucks....lol. Hope to see you someplace this year.
