Still waiting to hear back from NHRA on "IF" I can show up with the street car and enter it in stock just to get my grade points.... I doubt they would refuse anyone wanting to pay, but you never know...
I hope I can, this way I can take my truck with the Altered to Bradenton, Get the Altered Certified, and enter the truck... kill two birds with one trip. Then the following weekend do the same thing, only this time take the Ranger for its Certs.

If you get your grade point in Stock, it will NOT count in ANY of the .90 classes. If you want to enter in any of the .90 classes, enter the mustang in S/ST and those points can be used in any of the .90 classes. If you want to run stock in any of the national events then getting points in stock would be good, but it will be a complete waste of time and money if your looking for .90 grade points.

Looks like I will be racing the Mustang in S/ST at Bradenton and Gainsville, anyway. I am not sure if we have the motor sorted out yet, putting a BIG gear in it this weekend, and the freshened 306 is ready to go back in, as soon as I get the car back from the paint shop... New power plant will be ready before the Div race at SGMP, will definatly be running fast enough then, and then some.

I am pretty sure what I posted is correct, I know for a fact that S/ST points can be used in any of the .90 classes. As far as the Stock grade being used in .90 I am not totally sure on, you might want to check w/ NHRA to be sure on that one.

Yes, and No..
I was told that all I needed to do was to bring a car that would pass tech to get my grade point. I later called one of the Div 2 tech guys, and he told me that I could bring my new Mustang, enter it in stock, and get my grade point.

I was told yesterday that a grade in stock can be used in anything. I did not hear it from the "horse's mouth" but it was a pretty reliable person.

The same thing I heard as well, grade points can be used from one catagory to another.

Been there done that, one year I ran in stock,S/G & S/C and all of the grading points were lumped together
for entering a national event !!! So unless NHRA has changed this (which is VERY possible) enter whatever class you want !! It was good talking to you the other day Freddie, hope you get your S/ST car going soon !!! Doug Wesler |
