Thanks for the info, Chuck! The CJs really are some very cool Mustangs. Yeah, they're pretty spendy in some people's mind, but I kind'a think they're a good value for someone who wants to literally step right into an NHRA-class-legal stocker, without having to go through the time and expense of "building" a car.

I had the good fortune of being able to spend some personal time with Cobra Jet last November (I drove it at Las Vegas, the weekend after the finals). I know there are quite a few non-believers and non-Ford guys out there who balk at these cars, but I have to say, they really are pretty serious pieces and I think that after the growing pains are gone, they'll do quite well in Stock and Super Stock.

Looking at these new CJ engine pictures I see an engine that is pretty much showroom stock. The power steering is there and so is the emission control stuff like the crankcase ventilation, idle control valves etc. I think that it also has the belt driven water pump on it as well. If that's the case, there is a lot of horsepower left in these engines.

Word from the track...

The whole fleet of Cobra Jets just busted off 10.0s across the board. Oh, yeah, they're DEEP-nines capable, but I guess they'll all have to be recalled or something for roll-cage upgrades! Call it an oversight or something, but Ford Racing set all of them up with gobs of power...and 8-point roll bars! Doh!

Thanks for the pics KJ. I like the License plate always plugging the mag.

Just curious, but do these cars have the 5 lope supercharger design or a 3 lobe design (Tim Kish are you reading this?)

Combine the performance of these new cars, with the fact that, so far, Ford has said "no thanks" to any bailout guarantee from taxpayers, I think next Monday, after the racing on Sunday, might be a good time to buy a Ford.

Now, next week, if they start suckling at the federal nipple, then.....never mind.
