I personally believe that BOTH the Supercharged Mustang and the new Challengers belong in S/S or thier own class....NOT in stock eliminator. The rule book should be revised to say a larger number (min 100 and documented) should be produced and avaliable to the general public to who anyone who can afford them and want one. They dont have to be street legal due to all of the Govt. BS thats required to pass EPA and safety regulations today but no special runs of such small amounts produced. My 1 cent worth

I think they should be in SS along with the new z-r1 vette,ford has done a great job of putting the mustang in the right peoples hands that can make them fly,mopar i dont know..

All of you all comments sound exactely like the comments that were said when the older cars came out long time ago. are you all sure you all were not saying the same things many years ago when the hemis and fords came out then LOL at us

Ok, one car has yet to face an older one in the same class in competion yet and the other hasn't even seen the track and you guys are bitching. Damn, the fastest car doesn't always win. If stock eliminator consisted of all AA/SA(S) and A/SA(S) cars I might see the problem here but they don't so the guys will have to put a number on the window and run the dial in and hit the tree period!
Are you gonna bitch everytime someone brings a new combo to the table? Look over in SS, Bobby Dennis is the master of finding the odd ball GM engines and making them dominate. He is vey fast but against his index he's killer and a threat to qualify number one anywhere, yet he isn;t winning all the races. He did a real good job last year and thats because he works hard at it. I really need to know what's the big deal? Chrysler built the Hemi back in the 60's as a purpose built SS car and you couldn't drive it on the street. There were to versions, the street and race just like Ford. Quit your whining and race, it's not the end of the world. |

Oh, I know why everyone is upset, it's because Chevrolet didn't build and come out with a purpose built race car and Ford and Chrysler did. The worlds coming to an end because someone beat GM to the punch. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

All GM guys can hope for is the LS9 package ending up in the Camaro. IMHO, Ford did it's homework. Mopar could have had better input and GM just choked.

That may well be true, but pehaps for power-to-weight factors, I don't think any of those cars mentioned ever were classified as Stock Eliminator cars. They were always Super Stockers. If I'm wrong about that please cite some examples. Now, somebody has convinced NHRA to allow Thunderbolts into Stock Eliminator, an anomaly, in my opinion. If they're going to allow them, then what's next; swiss-cheese Catalinas and 421 SD '63 Tempests, along with the '64-up, lightweight Dodges and Plymouths with the cross-ram 426 competition hemis? I'll admit, that would give the new CJ's something gnarly to chew on.... LOL!
