This is a quote from a post by Dan Fletcher in another thread on this board.

"Obviously, the fee increases won't stop anyone from racing, but it's the principle of the matter. We're all struggling to just hang in there and they raise the price to participate. And then offer some BS excuse that doesn't even come close to making sense. And then tell us how they're really still doing us a favor."

I have never met Dan in person, but I have admired and respected him for what he has been able to do these last 15 or so years. When I read his post and this part of it in particular, I gained a whole new level of respect for Dan. I realize now that he has the same opinion of the NHRA situation as many of us do. I guess I believed that since he made his living as a Professional-Sportsman racer making the largest portion of his income at NHRA events, he would not voice such an honest, if not harsh opinion. I figured racers like myself and the majority on this site say these things without remorse because we are our own major sponserors, and do this mainly as a release from our everyday obligations and lives, so we have little to lose.

I just wanted to say "thank you" Dan for posting your opinions on here and showing me and many others that you feel the same as many of us about being treated like a bottomless money pit by NHRA.

I agree with Joe. Thank you Dan! You have proven once again that not only are you a great racer but you care about those who you compete against. Jim
