This isn't accruate. If you are interested in the NHRA's finanical information it's publicly available as they are a 501c6 non profit. Go to www.guidestar.com, register, and look up NHRA.

Guidestar is a database of charities. If you want to see their financial information, go to the Form 990 and it's all their on page one. The NHRA's revenue for 2007 was about $115 million. Their income was about $5 million.

I have seen a lot of commentary on NHRA's income and management salaries on this site. I would argue that much of the commentary is from people inexperienced with profit margins and executive compensation.

While NHRA did net $5 million last year this is only a 4% net margin. NHRA has to maintain some kind of positive margin to suffice its creditors and to re-invest in intself. A 4% margin is very responsible.

As far as compensation, the respective salaries of the management given the size of the organization and NHRA's success is in line with similar companies, even those in the non-profit sector.

Is it this way in all divisions? I ran a number of divisionals in D6 and D7 in the late 80's and early 90's, and always paid by check. I guess this is one more reason I'll be continuing to stay away from divisionals.

Regards,

Probably just depends on the track. I've been to number of divisional races where you could pay by check or credit card to race.

I believe the gate income from a divisional race goes to that particular track not NHRA. I think the track just pays a fee to NHRA to host the divisional event. A lot of tracks still won't accept credit cards because there is a 1 to 3% fee for the transaction.

Las Vegas divisional race would not take out of State checks but would take credit cards.
I still do not have a winnings check from the race. Still waiting for my out of State check from them !!!
My 2 Cents
