I would like to know what is the difference between Fred Henson's Hemi and the West Coast car. Fred ran 9.89 in A/SA and got 3.25% HP. -1200 ft DA or better and tailwind. I guess maybe the North West guys are better than the South Central guys? And if weight was in fact manipulated before the scales in Division 4, instant out of the race and out for 2 years minimum. The West Coast run was also in excess of 1.40 under if the Comp Altitude Adjustment was used (as recommended by the S/SS committee) in S/SS instead of the factors we are stuck with. Something is wrong here.

You should ask one A/SA racer from NC what he thinks about Hensons run. Total BS.

That's pretty simple logic...

Biill,
AHFS rules don't say anything about weight. They say you go 1.40 under the sea level index you get 3.25% HP period. If you are dumb enough to run your car light and go 1.40 under then you probably deserve a bigger hit than that. Hensen didn't weigh, no fuel check, and no tear down to verify legal motor. He got 15 HP the following Monday. Sorenson should get the same and a vacation for altering weight after the run before the scales. They are not novice racers and know better than to do what they did. Dave Schmitz |
