Don''t begrudge a dealer who marks his cars up above sticker, which is really called "manufacture's suggested retail price".
Instead, feel sorry for the dealers that have closed their doors and have gone out of business.
Look at how many cars the dealer is forced to sell below sticker price. He is allowed to ask any price for his cars that he wants. It's called 'supply & demand'.
If you don't like it, don't buy his car.

Can I get a 2010 Shelby GT500 (street car) in black with gold stripes? I don't see gold as a stripe option, will Shelby do custom changes such as this?

HELL NO! There's upping the price, then there's raping the public. 100k for a car that stickers at 70& therefore adding about 30% is rape! If I ran you over at the speed limit, then at 30mph+ you don't think you'd get hurt worse & resent it more? Well it's the same thing with car buying. I don't have a problem with dealers making a buck BUT "sticker" isn't what they pay---far from it, so they're actually making farrrrrr more than sticker if they add their mark-up. C'mon how dumb do you think the general public is?

At what percentage point is a collector car's value in the open market "ridiculous"?

Wait until the October issue of MM&FF. I did a proper drag test of the 2010 GT500 and the numbers are very impressive.

Gary, it better not snow down here, I gave my snow blower and snow shovels away.

At this point there is no option for Gold stripes, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. We have a great source for custom stripe kits.

I hope you don't think that car is at a Ford Dealership. It was purchased at sticker and is now being resold.

There have been 100 Cobra Jet mustangs built. 50 '08's that were sold out in 2 and a half days. And 50 '09 Cobra Jet Mustangs. I went back to Team Ford where I worked before I retired again, there was a factory rep there and with the General Sales manager we went to the internet and they proved it. Anyone can google 09mustangcobra jet and see for themselves!! Evan Smith said I was wrong, I don't come on here to post bulls---. ( The 09's even have different graphics)
