When I got 5 and 5 off about 10 years ago Jim Skelly was there. He had a good feel who was legit and was easy to work with.I don't know about now though.

Ed, I have asked many times last year and this year about a reduction on my combo , but I have not heard a word.

It's been my experience that no answer means "no".

If the answer is yes, the change will be listed on the NHRA website and Nat'l Dragster after the mid-year review. Sometimes there's a "no change" list as well that responds to the written requests.

The previous owner of your car, the late Andy Stintson, got some HP off the 2-barrel combo a while back. I also see that the 255 HP 350 in the Kingswood is rated at 275, while the same engine in a Camaro or Nova is 280. Don't know if Andy had anything to do with that.

They knocked 50 hp off the 1966 327/350 hp motor....
I guess it wasn't enough, but that's over 14-percent.
I seem to remember a 1962 327 Corvette motor (may have been
a fuelie) that got even more off, IIRC, a couple of years ago.

What do you have to do to get THAT kind of HP off a combination?

I have sent a letter to them twice a year for three years and the results have been a reply that the HP factor is correct. It does not need to reduced.

My buddy Mike wrote a letter and got some HP taken off his combo. He's afraid his efforts at Topeka may get him some of it back though.

A one time hit of under 1.40 at a national meet is not going to get horsepower.

Tony 1.40 under at anyplace besides Div. 6 will get you a 3.25% adjustment Monday after the race. I know I have gotten 3.25% twice, and every time my radiator did not leak a drop.

What ever happened to being responsible for ones actions.

I should have said less than 1.40 or between 1.15 and 1.399 under one time is not going to get one horsepower.
