Joe, maybe its just that state..not only have I used AAA plus RV for my truck and trailer for up to 100 miles with no charge in the western US personally, but I also managed a towing company in Alaska that did AAA service and with plus RV not only was the truck or motorhome hauled but ANY trailer was also hauled at no additional charge even if it took another truck.

I had the same problem. Towing my 24ft enclosed with a 1 ton dually and the converter blew on it. Called CAA (I was up in Canada) using my AAA RV Plus and didn't even think to ask about the trailer. The tow truck showed up and he asked me about towing the trailer. His GPS came up with 99 miles door to door and he was gone, no charge.

Joe -- I haven't given up on AAA just yet as many racers can and have had their rigs including trailers towed home -- maybe I'll just tell them I'm from Pennsylvania .....................And forget about that '69 Camaro deal with the tow truck drivers -- even Joe Sorensen haters like those old Camaros ! !

AAA North Jersey club does not offer RV Plus, Premier, or RV Premier. Called and asked. Central or South Jersey clubs may.

AAA Plus tows the truck for free. Trailer towing is offered at owner expense.

Cecil mentioned Allstate. Worth looking in to.

Cool Re: Broken down towing a race car???

Happened to me last year coming home from the Bakersfield points race. The ignition module died in my Silverado half way up the hill heading south toward Gorman-right on the worst part of the grade. I called on the call box( the rural ones still work and don't have pieces missing or graffiti obliterrating the diractions),and a flatbed arrived in about 20 minutes with the craziest old gal I ever saw running it. My truck went on the flatbed, the stinger came out and a ball screwed into it, and we rigged some lights. This person was a cross between Tugboat Annie,Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley, but she really was pretty funny and nice. 100 mile tow home to Glendora from Gorman cost $500.00,auto club would tow 10 miles free, then $9.00 a mile. I paid for it, got up early Sunday and got a NAPA module, fixed the truck, and went to the last Irwindale Summit race . I advise all of you to carry and know how to install, a fuel pump relay, ignition module, and a distributor rotor so a $40.00 part won't turn into a $500.00 tow late at night.Live and learn, it could have been worse, like spending the night on the mountain with her until the local parts store opens. At least I didn't hear banjos.
