As far as I know at the "Hat" as long as there is fuel check and scales, there "should" be heads up. There was one instance, I believe 2 years ago when the NHRA fuel check equipment wasn't working at the Hat. That's another story. It is my opinion and one that is shared by most Stk/SS competitors around here that there should be heads up during eliminations period. As I recall when I spoke to NHRA about this I was assured it wasn't the norm. The last time I was at Bremerton a few years ago the scale was operative. Ashcroft tried to use theirs a couple of years ago and they fought with it all weekend and finally gave up. I would hate to see the National Open series eliminate Stk/SS because of scales and fuel check, however I certainly agree that it opens up for debate the whole AHFS and records situation. To allow bracket cars to fill a field is garbage. I wouldn't go back either. Chuck
