give me a break! Joe and Hal are as close to these CJ'S as anyone and yet they are still 2-3 tenths behind! If I hit the lottery I'll buy one of these cars and show all what they are capable of. Not to spoil someones combo but to show how screwed up NHRA is on situations like this! 9.20's for sure!. My 2 cents worth Last edited by junior barns; 07-14-2009 at 09:11 AM. Reason: spelling |

Until one of the Stock Eliminator CJ's run's quicker than 9.60's at sea level or a factored track I'm not buying it. You can't slam a car with HP because of potential; yeah the dyno showed 620hp to the wheels but has it ran quicker than the current AA/SA record? Until they consitently run/avg 1.2 under or run under 1.40 they shouldn't be touched. If all the AA/SA, AA/S, A/SA, and A/S cars show up at Indy we might see who is holding back. I would like to see those 427 Chevy's let'um hang running against the new Cobra Jet. Smitty |

I personally think the only combo that will be able to touch the CJ's is the "other" new paper car until the AHFS "sorts things out."

No question when Sorensens, Robert Pond and Armstrong's from Canada or the likes of Jeff Taylor or Woodrow get time under there belt look out!!! porper head work short block work .060 overbore if block will stand it, Goood cams & headers, cal work, reduced oil flow and firction work. Besides some colsed track testing to really sort out chassis & clutchs & gear ratios or converters LOOKOUT
Ralph Even the Sorensens won't be able to run with the CJ's right now. Only Brent Hajek's cars appear to be close to matching the potential that the rear wheel dyno numbers show (10.51 at Denver in A/SA? Are you KIDDING me??). As the rest of the cars get sorted out they'll all start picking up too. No one mentions the fact that no one has had a CJ motor out of the car yet. I'm sure Ford's Engineers are top-notch, but I'd be willing to bet some of the Stk/SS engine builders will be able to get more out of it. Also, on Sorensen's 9.61 the mph was 136.96. The CJ's have been 139-140 already. When CJ owners get the right converters, clutches, and gearing look out. I personally think the only combo that will be able to touch the CJ's is the "other" new paper car until the AHFS "sorts things out." Quote:
