On our 2nd run, the air was 2558'. Our car spun as did Hagberg and Libbey. It is a lot warmer now and more humid, too. I took a few more pictures that I will post shortly.

Earlville is one of the most fun tracks I've ever worked. Really great people, plus some real ingenuity in the construction and operation. There's a grate that all cars have to drive over to get into the water. Any rocks on the tires drop into the pit below and thus the staring line is kept much cleaner.
The track dryer used to be a grain dryer and can be seen in the background of Alan Messer's photo and the one above it. It can singlehandedly raise the price of petroleum when Reid has to press that monster into service. Along with the angled seats, the entire track is concrete. Like I said, a really super place even if it is in the middle of nowhere. |
