The average person will not be able to even notice the blems that they are talking about. GM has very high standard for production vehicles today and very small problems will make a car non saleable. Also many of these cars are preproduction so they will be perfect but also nonsaleable.

![]() I'm as big a GM fan as anyone, a die hard, dyed in the wool, hardcore GM fan. I'd love to get excited about the program. But so far it's almost an insult, it has been handled so poorly. It's considerably more expensive than the Mustang, it's behind schedule, and the flow of information is almost non existent. It's almost as if they're trying to make it so difficult as to kill it before it gets started. They don't really do much to help you that I see. Looks more like they're trying to turn a profit by selling "blems" as opposed to fixing them or crushing them, rather than trying to help racers.

The way I read this, these aren't really bodies-in-white at all. They are bodies after sealer and paint that don't pass inspection. Read "colour cannot be specified"
A real body-in-white, and I've probably built more than anybody, is a bare shell with or without E-coat before finishing....the best way to build a clean, light racecar. I have to agree with Alan, not much effort to support a real race program. Too bad. FJ |

Guess the old saying, 'actions speak louder than words,' really applies here, as it seems GM has done very little, isn't doing much now, and isn't planning to do much to get the Camaro on the track.
Based on what I've seen, factory V8 ship weight would have to be around 3600# with factored HP staying at 426 HP to get into A/SA. Same numbers put it in SS/EA. This Camaro needs a diet... |
