I "saw/HEARD" one of those screaming buzz saws run @ Bowling Green when they were "hot & faaaaast".................. for those of you who have been there..... can you imagine how that sounded???
All those rpm's echoing down between those tin roofs!!!!!!!!!! If only i had my ear plugs in THEN!!!! |

I remember making a pass next to Hoard at Woodburn. The reason I remember is because that thing is still ringing in my ears. Couldn't even hear my poor ol' Olds!
If ya' look on the quarter panel just below the window, you'll see Hoard's partner's name; Gary Parham. A co-worker crewed for Gary on his black '55 Chevy called "the Undertaker" (IIRC). C/Gas I think. I'll always remember Gary getting his foot broke when a clutch/flywheel let go. Bulged the shield and floor enough to break his foot. I bought my first 'speed equipment' from him. Edelbrock dual AFB set-up for SBC. Sorrry for the diversion; back to the Mazda's |
