Lets start by saying yes those mustangs are very fast, but now only one person can say they set the AA/SA record at a sea level track, they didn't. I don't have a dog in this race but.
nhra had the wrong specs for pistons in my spirit. Made me pull a piston for a record setting. The dish height was off by .375. if their specs were right I would have to have been running diesel.
After taking the piston back to their motel for the night. They gave it back to me. Said they would check with California and let them make the call but I was not allowed to race.
In the end they gave me the record, but never gave me a dime back after not allowing me to compete.

So the Indy deal could have been legit
