I stab my clutch because I can't help myself. Can't say if it's actually releasing or not but my trans is relatively happy. The hemi stick car runs a G-Force and I have a Jerico. McLeod's in both.

How is it against the rules to chose or not chose to use the clutch for any gear changes after launching?

I honestly don't think that NHRA or IHRA officials give a flip how stick cars gets down the track, as long as they get down.
Meaning I don't see them using man hours policing stick cars. Personally I would like to see the rule be changed in super stock.

Dale, another good way to check for clutchless syncros is to rock the car back and forth in each gear if it pops out of gear you`re done. That`s all NHRA cares about and they checked for them at Indy this year,I know I was one of them.

Interesting tidbit Adam. I did not know that! Personally, I don't care if someone clutches or not, I was just pointing out that a clutch is supposed to be used to comply with the rules. I love Stock and S/S cars but am also one of the old guys who think things have gone too far. Something wrong with a system when a "Stocker" can run 9's or can also qualify for S/S.

As I look at the records in National Dragster it looks like the automatic cars are faster in MOST cases of Stock and Super Stock. In Super Stock/ Modified Stock and Modified automatic cars get a 250 lbs weight break. I do not believe the stick cars are running away with anything.
