Have to love how NHRA looks out for the sportsman racers.... Putting threer aces in four weeks with the entry fees soo damn high...going to be an expensive begining of the year ...
I know it has been this way for some time, but you would think that withthe economy the way it is and car counts dropping faster than ..... well anything I can think of.... You would think they coudl space them out a little better instead three of the five right on top of each other then everyone sits around doing squat till the fourth race then there is a month break till the last one... I love living in Florida but the divisional schedule for down here sux..

Tom: YES I am thrilled they are at least close to me.. but the costs for the average racer to attend three divisional races inside of 4 weeks is a bit much... I have saved some $$$ from last year so I can do it this year, because I too am in NEED of grade points. It has been many years since I raced NHRA national or divisional races, so its like starting all over again...
I just would like to see a little more racing throughout the year instead of all bunched together then months of nothing.... That and the fact that Div 2 is now back to only 5 races no div opens, nothing... see where other divisions have like 7 races and opens....

When you think about it you'll realize that only down here can you run all the NHRA races in the area usually without missing many of your local bracket points races. In most areas you have to choose early in the year between running for an NHRA division and Wallys or running for a track championship. Also, you can set the car up for throttle stop racing (in my case), do your month-long tour, then quit if you don't do well and put the bracket race setup back in. In my view the schedule is actually the best of both worlds. You spend your money all at one time and either way, you can plan for the rest of the year.

That is one way to look at it... Either way I will find out this year as we are setting up for S/G.... should be fun with a small tire car...
