Yeah, yeah, take the AA through D cars and make them run SS! That way you'll have to meet the safety regs. of all the other 9 and 10 second cars. Won't have to worry about any of those troublesome 4 and 5 second spots anymore either (low rent, dirtbag, slow stocker scum). Then you can also extend your cage through the firewall to make it safer, put bigger tires on it (we all know how unsafe it is running in the 9s on those skinny tires!), get rid of those flimsy, crappy rocker arms (break one of them and you could lose a motor and oil down those skinny tires), etc, etc, etc. We want all of you guys to feel safe! Seats don't affect the performance at all (except maybe letting you move around some weight which doesn't help performance). Yeah, riiight.
(All of this crap was written in the name of sarcasm) Yeah, riiight.
I like your idea.....Take the AA stockers on down to about "D" or "F" stock and run them in S/S. Make stock wt breaks start around 10 lbs per. Yeah....you got it right this time Billy.

If the CJ's are going that fast, then the question is are they really Stock Eliminator cars? 9.60's at 140 mph. More like a Super Stock car IMO.

This is yet another issue that takes the factory appearing built race cars away from the world of Stock Eliminator. Racing fans like Stock because they can relate to the cars. Installing these seats would make a Stocker look like the typical bracket car at the local race track.

no it wouldn't, the average bracket car has no carpet, sheetmetal dash, doorpanels, lexan windows with aluminum braces, etc. Superstockers don't look like bracket cars either, class cars are kept to a much higher standard than most bracket cars. If race seats make a stocker look like a bracket car i guess we should take the wheelie bars, roll cages and 7lb front wheels off too.

all im asking is for NHRA to give us the option to have a seat or not, those that want their car to remain stock appearing keep the original seat, it not an advantage on the track i really don't know what the big deal is?

It is an advantage as far as ballast is concerned. You can save 20lbs or more with aftermarket seats.

I would hate to see seats allowed. I would vote against this.
