For what it's worth: Jeg races here in Indy all the time in bracket races in a dragster. And he's deadly. And I've seen him here practicing during Thursday night test and tunes getting ready for bracket races.
So whatever else you may think, I wouldn't accuse Jeg of being "too good to get his hands dirty." He seems very involved when I've seen him. |

I don't see how having folks like Jeggie and Big Daddy in Stock Eliminator can be anything but a good thing.

What would be cool is if Jeg would run it to the mat rather than try to protect the combo, but if he wants to fit in he'd better not do it the way it should be done.

I agree. Might generate some attention.

Yeah, but Jeggie will qualify and maybe (probably) win some races. Garlits didn't even make the show at Indy.

Hammer /Ed,
Maybe they should have given Jeggie the first car... Also, Mopar has gone under and Ford didn't, so something did happen ? If you remember Big Daddy's car didn't run well , everyone was worried about his driving..He cut a .008 lite in class, but was outrun by the other car and didn't make the program at Indy..... Why didn't he have one of the fastest cars ? Mopar, made a bad move there... Jeggie, will be a big Plus to the Mopars & Stock class in 2010.............

What I get from Hammer's first post is that some racers that have the resorces, name recognition, and right connections get these types of cars just for the novelty of them. I'm not knocking Garlits at all because it was nice to see a legend like him running stock at Indy, but I wonder if that car will ever surface at a race track again. Could it be that the car has made it's last appearance at a track and now has a permenant home on the floor of the museum?
Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. ![]() RIP Mark Graham

John
Look at jeggies record he has more sportsmen wins then 99% of the people in the sportsmen racing (13) he is a former world champ in S/G most of his wins are in SUPER/STOCK. Many Div wins and Div championships. Supports NHRA drag race as a sponsor the All star race when TRW stopped sponsoring it. Any body with grade points and money to enter can in. I believe his world champion will get him in with out grade points the more the merry. He should come and try and get you in the first round happy hunting Jeggie. |
