Ed.......you are a wealth of knowledge on those old tankers!
I have to admit I thought the fastback Javelin was a nice looking car around 1970 or so. I was with my wife one night in a dealership getting a price on one. I was wanting to buy a new car and those Javelins in the right color looked good to me. My best friend at the time bought a 340 Duster all in black and it went some low 14's at Island. I had a '67 GTO and was wanting something new. My eyes were bigger than my wallet and I came to my senses and kept the Goat for a while longer. I got tired of adding fluids from all the leaks it developed and sold it to a future NY Yankee pitcher.......Wish I had it back now! P.S. I did fix the leaks before I sold it.......Rear main seal and front disc brake calipers were always weeping......That car was loaded and mint and chirped the tires on the 1-2 every time ( trubo 400-his and hers shifter) Crager SS's

Rich, the older I get the more I forget.I knew a whole bunch more years ago.The only way I remember some of this stuff is when I get prompts and then the info comes back to me.There are some things that suck about getting old.

In 1974 I bought a blue 1970 Javelin SST had a cold air hood and a big spoiler on the back with Mark Donahues signature on it.They called it a Javelin T/A. Paid 1500.00 cash for it (I borrowed from my dad) It had a 360 with a big AVS carb T/F trans Chevy dist, and yes, vacum w/wipers. I dont remember how many miles it had but they must have been hard miles. This thing was fast as hell but stayed broke all the time.I loved it, and was a beautiful car, but I couldnt afford to keep it running. So I swapped it for a 69 Mach 1
Man those cars were cheap in the mid and late 70,s |

Jody and Toby have silver cards and will probably enter on the Monday before the race. They have a entry guarantee as does Dan Fletcher.
