Cool Re: Legal Stocker?

Dick....the answer for those who want to race a limited production combo is to race IHRA and to say the hell with NHRA. NHRA is stubborn, and ALWAYS right no matter what the situation. They have thier own agenda but Its a free U.S.A. (for now) so race where you want to and under the rules of that paticular association. The decision to allow the "Quality" thick fiberglass manufactured by a company that made this stuff that looks as though the part was made of steel was a good one in my opinion. The ruling was decided on by a manufacturer (MoPar), racers input, and several on the tech commitiee at that time to try and bring back the old rare combos for those who dont want to spend, cant spend, and find it crazy to spend the $10,000 to $25,000 or more for weak, bent up, rare parts if someone can even find the stuff. Carbon Fiber and Kevlar was NOT allowed under no circumstance. Its very easy to tell the difference between the two so that should not be an issue and at the time only ONE company was allowed to supply the parts. You are wasting your breath and energy arguing with anyone from NHRA unless it will benifit the ones in Calif. I guess only the Ford T-Bolt will be able to run AA/S or in S/S as they came with fiberglass from the factory instead of Alum. How many of those running today are still using thier original factory fiberglass instead of lighter replacement fiberglass parts not to mention Edelbrock Alum heads, Jerico tranmissions or C-4 automatics and maybe titainium valves instead of the hollow stem steel valves they came with? Food for thought?
