Car counts are down especially at Opens (excluding the 'Dutch and we all know what a cluster that race is going to be before we even get to the gate) so, there shouldn't be any big issues. They have run sleds at the LVD during the Divisional before with no real problems so, what the heck? There's only been about a dozen or so of them past anyway plus, they're kinda neat to watch. If it puts a few more people in the seats, so be it. Cecil could be an issue though....

You are required to have a long list of safety items to run almost any category in NHRA........but you can go 200MPH sitting on a snowmobile or bike with basically no protection!.........All you have to do is see the clip of the guy that crashed on his Luge sled up in Edmonton to see what could happen to someone on a bike or sled......He was going 88mph and I had to turn away everytime they showed the crash.....Dragstrips don't have many places along the track for something like that to happen but it seems foolish to include these things. I have seen them at my local tracks usually running in the 9's at somewhere around 140.......

I agree... Jr's at the Divisional races woudl be great... then we wouldnt have to go to any Bracket races at all.....
Snow Mobiles have no place at the race track unless its covered in snow... they could all be racing right now up there... from what I have seen there is snow all over..... so Snow mabilers have fun... leave the warm weather racing for the cars... |

I will admit I was majorly interested in getting my boyfriend to convert his snowmobile from snow to asphalt thinking that it was just going to be a bracket thing then I read the rules and realized it would take A LOT more work than just buying some tracks and leathers. It's only a 700 so we'd need a new motor plus a lot of other stuff and we'd really rather put the money into the racecars and the house. I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking that this was going to be a bracket class then learn it was a heads up 200mph class. I mean how many of these are out there and are any in our area? I do agree with Don though, It would be fun to watch
