Default Sad news

Stock eliminator racer and friend Jerry Newsome lost his battle with cancer this morning at 10:10. Jerry put up a valiant fight for the past 12 years, but went on to a better place today. He leaves behind his wife Barbara, sons Jason & Brian, and daughters Kara & Tracey and lots of friends and family who loved him very much.

We don't know any of the funeral arrangements yet, but we will post them whenever we know.

Larry & Patsy

I never knew him but always got asked if we were related. My dad TK Newsome used to race 260 Falcons in Div 2 before moving out here and I have a Div 2 sticker on my car for him so every where I would go I would get asked if we were related.(I drive a mopar too I am sure that had something to do with it) But i always heard nothing but good stories. I wish they would find a cure for that dreadful disease. we are losing too many good people.

Sad news for sure. It was always a pleasure to talk to Jerry when we would meet in tech or away from the track. He always seemed to be a tough competitor and at the same time a real gentleman. He will be missed by everyone. Condolences to the family.

Rest in peace Jerry.
