Yes, absolutely.

Age 58

As always, size matters:

In our youth, we started out under the hood at the local service station, and bragging rights in the 60's were about the size of your carburetor.

Today, for many, a fart pipe defines performance, and our youth often start out button-pushing instead of wrenching and never go back. The claim to fame is now the size of your hard drive.

Sadly, most cars today are simply commodities, unable to draw an ounce of passion.

P.S. I actually overheard a customer in a NAPA store recently ask for a higher-amperage chip for his alternator!

yes 42,
i used to ride my bike to k-mart to find the latest model car, loved to learn the names of the parts and how they worked and how everything worked together, this started my love of cars and working on them, with the help of my dad we took apart carbs, then engines (well i held the droplight), but this was how we learned, now i cannot find a model car anywhere, ex. hobby shop. anyone else notice, wal-mart pulled them all off the shelves a few years ago, again lack of interest, phones and electronic games are now our babysitters...
