OK, good advice for sure. I think God has had the biggest "slam" on poor 'ol Drooze so far. I still like him and think he is a colorful character. Jim

Now now boys play nice.
I've been following Drooze's posts since day 1. I am a fan, I love his stories and his excitement over his new car and I've seen that he's a survivor who's been thru a lot. (I'm looking forward to meeting you and your dad some day soon.)
We all plan & hope for our cars to do well and express ourselves in different ways. It's not bragging, it's hoping out loud. Remember, it's sometimes difficult to get the gist and emotion from a forum post.
This forum would be boring as hell if it wasn't for posts like Drooze's.

Artie & Jim are 2 of the nicest people I've met (in person) racing. I'm proud to have their hand me down Dodge turbo and the benefit of both of their experiences with the car.
... and I'd be happy to listen to any advice Boosted has for turbo cars and data gathering ideas. The internet is a wonderful tool for sharing ideas and experience.
There is so much we can learn from each other... instead of busting on people you've never me.
I lurk and read and learn.... because some of you ss/sstk people are so darn cranky & mean you even scare me, and that's pretty hard to do.

It's absolutely foolish to be running that car down the track and not closely look at the data, actually, you shouldn't even of gone to the track and your tuner should of realized this as a MAJOR PROBLEM.

Case and point, similar situation as you, except I didn't talk **** for months building up to this so it didn't attract near as much attention. About 10 years ago I build a turbo'd car, lost a motor. I did the same thing as you and just guessed what went wrong. My datalogging system was screwing up, but I didn't think anything of it as I was convinced I knew what the problem was. Build another motor, and pop it. Same issue. Didn't have data. Built another motor, figured out my data logging issues, and found out that we had a wastegate problem and the car was seriously over boosting (data doesn't lie). Something that was so simple cost tons of money. Could be the same in your circumstances as well.

You have the "technology" so you say, use it. Your tuner should know better than to send a car down the track without knowing 100% sure that the datalogging system is working.
I'm gonna keep Drooze out of this. He's a friend and co racer dealing with new learning curves. He's had his fair share of ups and downs and I wish him and his crew well. I do agree with your comment about his tuner. His engine also add's another factor into the mix as well.

Anyways.....I don't know you, nor you know me, however you brought up very valid points. For me, data logging and active knock sensors are my new best friends. If it wasn't for those, I'm sure I'd of oiled down a track or two in the past 4 years.

Thanks ! Well, as with us the saga never ends, lol, we broke a trailer axle in Wyethville Virginia, and before anyone rags I just had the trailer serviced, brakes, shackles, springs and such.

**** just happens, oh well were here for the night. Get trailer fixed hopefully on the road by 5 PM....

I gotta get home to my son, hes back in the hospital , all going to be ok, but hes bored sitting there and we have a good time when hes there (strange but true, good company I guess)

So, well a couple people know the "real" story of what happened to our motor, some are just guessing and slinging mud, thats ok, funny I wasnt even the one driving, same thing the old man said, "Thats Ok everyone is gonna blame you" and he laughed, fair enough.

The funny part is those who are throwing guesses and conjecture have no idea what happened, Grubbs, who was nice enough to give us some very real, very valuable and very sage advice was standing on the line next to me when it happened, he called it 100% right, I didnt, he was spot on. His advice on many things were ACE , and they will be listened to without reserve, Arts advice as well, thats a given. The only single regrets I have is I wasnt able to find Mr. Grubs or Beaver before I left to thank them for their advice and input (and selfishly get more, as it was A1

The really funny part for us is reading the conjecture of people like boosted, and knowing he dosent know but keeps trying to act like he does, thats some funny and entertaining stuff. (for us, it may be our and a few others here "inside joke" but still funny)

We see the week and trip as a success, lets recap.

Got Cage Certed last week,
Got Our Liscences
Got Our Competiton Numbers
Got a Grade Point (both of us)
Learned "The Drill" at an event.
Met some great people
Learned a LOT of information at the track.
Everyone is healthy and we had a good time with the exception of 10 minutes of Oil down.

Broke a motor
Broke a trailer axle

Seems like the balance sheet still says "Success" to us.

How many Grade points you have Boosted and what is Your Competition Number ? Maybe you have em, but now were like Art said able to use them, that Progess for us, steps forward. Slow progress but progress, when we stop progressing, we will change how we do things, until then the world and racing, and life in general is at our command at our pace.

Thanks Itsy

Cheers

None, I don't class race. But you have proven that all you need to do to get a grade point is to take your daily driver down the track, so I'm not sure what you are getting at there???

I have a competition license and a ET number?? Does that count?

One day your car will maybe be fast enough to actually need a competition license, but I doubt it.

So keep the personal comments coming, all I did was question a few things and disagree with some of your choices, I've obviously struck a nerve.

boosted, Last night, you posted comments on this thread, page 5, post #50, regarding the Drooze DP car, also talking about your 4 cyl. turbo car.... your comments were: It is a consistent 9.50 sec. street-driven 4cyl turbo car, 60k miles on motor, running street tires at the track. Before I could reply, (pg.6, post 51) you deleted all that I just mentioned regarding said car. There are more than a few here who caught that post, and we would like to hear about the 1/4 mile performance of your car again, along with those details that you previously stated in post # 50, page 5.... Regards. WJ

Seriously, this whole thread is really just the basis for a reality show isn't it.
