The plot thickens. It seems Mr. Swisher started his own company, selling SFI approved gear!!! A little motive to try and make Impact look bad? Maybe done on his own, and maybe never used, and maybe without the bosses knowledge...

Looks like if your products are new enough (2009-2010) you are ok. I still got rid of my belts. I am not taking a chance. But for others it may be way more money to replace more than just belts. This is good news for them.

April 1, 2010 - Impact Racing, LLC and SFI Foundation, Inc., in the litigation pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, have agreed that:

1. Impact Racing, LLC has provided sworn testimony that, upon review and investigation, no counterfeit SFI Conformance Labels have been used on Impact Racing products during the production years of 2009 and 2010.

2. Impact Racing, LLC has provided sworn testimony that, upon review and investigation, all Impact Racing products manufactured and sold during the production years 2009 and 2010 meet SFI specifications.

3. Based upon this sworn testimony, the decertification against Impact Racing products for the production years 2009 and 2010 is lifted. The decertification of the production years prior to 2009 and 2010 remains in effect. The parties will continue to work cooperatively in an effort to resolve the issues relating to decertification in these years.

Sounds like to me that Mr. Swisher has a hard-on for Bill Simpson. Makes you wonder if was back dooring stuff and maybe SFI tags, who knows. It's bad enough Bill took all the heat for Dale Earnhardt getting killed in 2001. Now he has to put up with this crap. We've used simpson and impact stuff for years (belts, helmets & coats) and there the ONLY company I trust and will use until somebody tells me different.

In regards to Helmets, they are the only ones I have trusted for years, AND they were Made in the States, I just bought a new Simpson helmet and was chagrined to see the "Made in China" label

Im not saying "its not as good" Im just saying Simpson bike helmets have saved my life more times than I can count, I remeber paying $800 for a multi impact rated Simpson Indy type helmet when they first came out because well they were one of the few that were multi impact rated....lo and behold that helmet saved my life. Another Simpson saved my life after multiple tumbles and thuds on concrete at over 80mph and well....

I hope their new Simpson helmets are as good the Made in China just scares me a little.

Ill probably be hard pressed to find a good Snell approved helmet made in the US ? Anyone know of any ?

Edit I also meant to mention, because of the ongoing "decertification" notices on SFI's website over the last year or so for Impact items, that is why I didnt buy a helmet of theirs, Fear Uncertianty and Doubt, this will have a Major Impact on Impacts business....

Chris, when I bought my Simpson Helmet a while back all of the ones that are sized S-XXL are made in China, the ones sized by hat size were made in the states
