Did super stock get 2 or 3 qualifiers?

2. Once again, they keep taking away and we get nothing in return. I remember the days when we would get 4 qualifying runs at a national event.

Well....if the racers are really there to race, how about round two of SS eliminations when the racers were called to the lanes....when only a dozen or so showed up and the others "lally-gagged" despite demands by the lane directors, the directors finally had enough and told everybody to go back to their trailers since nobody seemed interested in racing? I applaud the lane directors!
I wasn't there but this is what I've been told by one of the few that was in the lanes.

Personally, I've never understood the need for more than three time runs at a National event. I would be satisfied with two. It's a race, not test-n-tune!

I was informed that it was a TV time decision, nothing to do with the racers.

04/16/2010 - 04/18/2010 - SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals

Category Quota Entries % Full

Top Fuel Dragster 24 17 70.8%

Fuel Funny Car 24 18 75.0%

Pro Stock 24 26 108.3%

Top Alcohol Dragster 24 16 66.7%

Top Alcohol Funny Car 24 21 87.5%

Super Stock 80 62 77.5%

Stock Eliminator 120 72 60.0%

Super Comp 100 94 94.0%

Super Gas 100 89 89.0%

Event Total 520 415 79.8%

Lets see, only 79.8% of the alloted cars show up, one class is omitted at each race so we can get 4 hits, ....."remember the enhancement letter to the racers" the last few years it was 3 hits, this year its down to 2 hits.

Evidently no one cares?

Where's our racer reps?

Does it matter?

First off were you there? I don't think so. Two They were in the lanes and they actually did get paired up ready to go. Harold gave them a 3 min time and said if you guys are not paired up we will skip you. They got paired up and he was ready to send them out when he got the call from upstairs. So he then knew it would be a while cause they had to go through the whole PRO SHOW and A fuel. So he sent them back instead of making them sit in the lanes. Then the SHOW took so long by the time they were done it was scheduled to start over. That's what happened. Now stay off your soap box keyboard and get your show car out of the garage and get the real story.

As I said, I wasn't there. Should have been pretty clear. I'm sure you can read it. But my soapbox came straight from a racer that was there, in the lanes and ready to race. A small amount of SS racers were in the lanes, ready to race. A real story by a trusted source.
If the racers want to drag their butts to the lane on their schedule, and it makes it impossible to get to the pros ON TIME, then expect to be rescheduled when time permits. Sorry to inform you but the PRO's and on air TV time is the show as far as NHRA is concerned. Yes, that's a soapbox production from me who has seen this problem at races (that I am entered) time after time, in Stock over a 13 year period.

Your first post to me came across hard on the racers. I will agree they take there sweet time, but in this case they were there and ready. Everybody should have known they were getting bumped as soon as they saw the schedule first thing in the morning. But like i said i was right there with Harold when he got the call. No need to beat a dead horse but that is how it went.

Actually: We were in the lanes: paired very quickly ,suited and ready to go. There was no lolygagging. In my opinion we had time to run before the pros.
