Just how hard are the newer camaro/firebirds to work on?

My #5 spark plug was a real bear to get to.....'97 Firebird. Hedman headers. Had to make a special wrench and it was easier from below than on top. A couple bellhousing bolts are a struggle..........Installing the engine is not too bad but you need an extra long engine hoist and the engine lift plate known as the happy hooker works good I'm told. I did not have one and made something else.

Another really difficult area to work on is up under the dash with a full roll cage........for wiring and controls. Plan on seeing a chiropractor after doing any work there......LOL


I did all the work on mine at home on the floor. A lift would have been a big help..........

I can't even get the wire off #5 with out pulling the header back in my '96. Hedman's also. I have a two post lift in my garage at home, I drop the engine out (or, more correctly lift the car off) for about anything. Valve springs, etc. Upside is they will almost hook on grass. Lots of natural engine set back.

My '95 LT-1 street car would have been a pain. Thankfully the only thing I ever had to fix was a transmission mount, which was easy. I imagine changing plugs and other things would have been hard to do.
