2 HP on a 4 jet.......but, even after all the facts and variances, I'm not convinced....

I leave mine off now.....

Was that dyno result with the hood closed or open.
A gain with the hood open can be lost with the hood closed due to carb to hood clearance.....

All of this Air Cleaner Base BS... is just more confirmation of just how F***ed up things are... from Div. to Div. and from HQ in Glendora!

NHRA has let the S*** get so far outta control, that now, none of them even know what is correct or "Whats Accepted".

Lew,

Ran the stock A/C assembly because of a hoop scoop, but always thought that OEM would mean what came on the car with that silly little tube with the exhaust stove top warmer snorkel assembly on most cars. I know nearly everyone runs either the flat open base or flat base with open element style. One of my guests yesterday was shocked upon seeing the 6" (?) dia. pipe and element on a new Cobra Jet.

Can anyone really runs 10's thru a 4 square inch hole? Guessing whatever they allow is ok as long as it gets "factored" into the equation...

Wonder way the geunius is GIVING UP...
It saddens me to se continued misreading of my posts....

Giving up ? Were going to add 2 cars to the game.....In addition to replacing the DP if it sells, if not well still add the other 2, only 1 will track this year if the DP dosent sell however.

Do you really believe the "inventive" interpretation of things you "think" you read ? It explicitly said I wasnt giving up, rather going in deeper........Do you want people to actually believe what you say when you outright put blatant lies to this board ? Do you really think people are that gulliable ?

James, my, you cant even leave me out of your own posts......

With so much bitterness, is it something personal , did I date your daughter, or niece or something ? If so I am sorry, they were forgettable and a I apologize.

James, Incorrect about something ? From the air you purport you are without error, hence this must be the NHRA's fault right ? No culpability for yourself ?

James since you offered me assistance with the scales and slip , I will offer in kind, we will have remedial reading lessons by Mandie at the Trailer at Norwalk, and an Advanced class on how to read a rulebook held later in the day, there is no charge......

Just doing what I can to offer the same type of help you offer

Why run an air cleaner ? Im serious ? If your air cleaner and snorkel are creating a retriction, the rules say Air Cleaner Optional .... Why run one at all ? Temperature ? I mean ? They are race cars ,,,,, Am I missing something here ?

And I ask that in all honesty......what am I missing ?

That would be are you allowed to run a non stock base that improves air flow, not about running the stock air cleaner.

Are you running just the base? Or the base and air cleaner?

Many run air cleaner elements in bracket mode and remove it for heads up runs.
