I thought that saving spots was not allowed. I heard that racers roped off large areas of blacktop parking for friends and racers that arrived early were not allowed to park on the "saved" spots. Does not seem fair to me. What do you think? Dyno

I agree. It pisses me off when get there early to get a good spot and the spot I would like to take is blocked off with lawn chairs or those orange road cones.
It should be, first come, first served and if your buddy doesn't get there in time, too bad, he doesn't get the choice spot next to you.

I have no problem with anybody saving A/ONE parking space for a team car or a buddy but not a 1/2 acre or 20 parking spaces for 20 other racers--Comp 387

a Racer should be allowed to save only one space only for one day after that park where the space is open

Because, being fortunate, we often share what we have with a friend who has less. Water, tools, electricity, food, cooler/refrigerator space, cooking, etc. I also often help crew another car for a friend who may not have any help, and needs some. Why should we NOT have a spot next to us for him, just because he can't leave the same time we can?

I assume you're speaking of Englishtown -- a few years ago I went to David Hance's "Shakedown at E-town" (a well attended street-legal event for you NHRA "types") and noticed the very same thing on Thursday when I got there to set my display up. It seemed as though everyone who was there on Thrusday must of had at least 25 "racer" friends that were eventually going to show up......yellow caution tape and orange pylons were everywhere.

We pretty much park where NHRA tells us to park, like everyone else. And then, if necessary, we tell them we have a person who would like to park with us, and they tell us if it is possible.
