Dennis, I just can't seem to throw that paddle down..........lol. Hayden has to be 18 to enter a national event, or I would consider him driving at Indy.....after his performance at Joliet. I had confindence in him before the race but he did really suprise me........ I think I may have a good driver.

Yeah, maybe this should be my new stir! I don't understand the 18 yrs deal.........@ nat. events. They can run a div. and take out folks that are chasing world points but cannot contest a nat. event themselfs............ ?????

Exclamation Re: NHRA Safety, who are you kidding

The 18 YO ruling goes back about 10-15 to the deal with Winston and the Fed govt.as the tobacco co's were legislated out of all forms of racing sponsorship-- An agreement was reached regarding under 18 drivers not competing at National events at that time-The divisionals were not included in the ruling---Since the tobacco co's can no longer be involved in NHRA racing I would think that rule could be rescinded now. Maybe call NHRA and push em a little see what kinda response ya get--Comp 387

A few years back, at the Cajun Sportsnationals In Belle Rose, I left the starting line with my visor up. There was a nice color photo in ND of the race. Danny Gracia sent me a letter a week later telling me of me violation, and referencing the pic in ND, and the future consequences if I did it again. Since that race I have seen so many violations of Pro drivers in TF, FC, PS, removing their safety equipment while still on the track. You watch the in-car cameras for Greg Anderson, Jason Line, Morgan Lucas etc. removing their gloves, HANS straps while still at a high rate of speed. I wonder how many of them received letters threatening fines and point penalties. Last year at Memphis, Luke Bogaki had his head completely in front of the cage while winning SC.
The only thing that will stop this is to DQ a few drivers and the rest will fall in line. Don't even get me started about the local NHRA tracks that allow 4.70 dragsters race with blue jeans or less. Both of my typing fingers are already sore from this.

Rock, I did not mean in the pit space, I meant down track!

Seriously I am concerned that one day 2 drivers moving in for the view out of the groove and one looses traction, well you get it. I do understand it, just like braking on the big end, its tuff to enforce. I think if smoke comes off your tires at the big end it is a DQ, if your heads out of the cage its a DQ, if you finish every lap on the centerline, ita a DQ. The issue will be, who do we get thats going to baby sit us?
