Doyle,
I did a search on Fayetteville craigslist. There was several adds for 383 engines and several adds for camaros one was the same color as yours but not as nice. I would start looking there. You can't count on our overworked and underpaid Lawenforcement to help. THey are to busy writing me Stop sign tickets and harrassing racers to do what they are paid to do.

Doyle:
I am sorry I just got back on this site. As soon as you can contact your police department and port security at the Port at Wilmington. There have been stories going around between collector and just week-end car show people that nice cars are being stolen and shipped overseas to people who do care how they get the American collector car as long as they get them. Quick contact their security. I'll bet that roll-back is now parked in that area somewhere.

Chris,

No leads yet - the camaro spotted at Warsaw wasn't mine according to the police.

I learned a valuable lesson - don't forget to put insurance on any of your toys.

I'm checking on some of the local crooks and some people who have asked about it in the past.

Thanks for asking.

Doyle, please tell me that you had replacement classic car insurance on you car. Here, in North Carolina, if you do not have agreed value coverage on a classic car, it is only worth what the book value is. Most of us in the Raleigh area learned this a few years ago when a guy had a restored '57 chevy truck hit by an uninsured motorist. The insurance company totaled the truck and offered him $1500 for it.

No - no insurance except regular liability. I'm an idiot - I admit it. I thought I lived in a decent neighborhood and had it blocked in by one of my vehicles. I was wrong on both accounts.

A lot of my buddies went out and put ins on their cars immediately. At least someone benefits besides the jerks that stole it.

Been bummed out, but if I caught them in the act - another crime would have been committted. So, I guess it could have been worse.

My son is really depressed - but it was actually too much car for a young kid. So maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

Take care,

Doyle

Anyone who is interested, give a call to Classic & Specialty Auto Insurance in Raleigh. These folks can write a policy from several classic and specialty car companies with no limit on the mile you can drive and agreed value. They are one of our sponsors and by the way they can also write drag race car policies.

Doyle:

Was your camaro recovered? I just heard on the WRAL news that they have got three Marines for stealing cars, roll back and other items in Jacksonville area. Hope you have recovered that car. Good luck

I have just heard that a 68 restored camaro was recovered in Arkansas, is that yours?
