Yeah the J-380 head is not too bad, however to make these things really run requires alot of R&D which equals Cubic dollars. Truth be known I'm only aware of 3 guys running the Ford V-6 in drag racing, so not much developement going on. I've been fortunate enough to have several good freinds help me with my stuff or I'm sure it wouldn't run as well as it does. After this economy straightens out I may try and bring this stuff closer to the GM stuff until then I'm just glad the bad fast guys live far from me.Joe

Thanks guys, I know these may not be te best head out there for what i am trying to do, but they are affordable, and I dont have to change anything else in my combination. I currently run 9.4's witht he Dart Pro1's and the J302 heads have a little better port job on them.
If I were to redo everything I would be looking at teh 2300 Ford 4 cyl combination for SS/CX, but with what it cost for the head and some of the other specialty items, I will stick to what I have. Just wanted to be able to race SS instead of S/G. Thanks... |
