Actually, it was a 10.207 on an 11.25 sea level index, that's 1.043 under. Racers that run the Boise race say the indexes are over adjusted, the track is about 0.22-0.25 slow, and they added 0.37 to the index. In any event, you have to run 1.25 under the sea level index. If they aren't correcting the local weather to a sea level standard, then it's a good rule, too.

Im confused, if you have to run 1.25 under the sea level index, how did the LS1 get the HP from a run of 10.439 in B/S? Yes I am aware this was 1.34 under at a factored track.

I have not actually seen the ET and conditions from the LS1 run in question, I can't say. Call your NHRA Tech person, and have the run information in hand, they'll explain it. Or you can call Glendora and ask for a clarification.

I did, today, and the answer I received was "any run of 1.25 under the index or more receives instant HP, regardless of where its at". It was the run I just stated, he informed me of this, which I had already assumed. My question is, how did this combo get it and others did not?

Word from Brian McClanahan, and NHRA officials at Seattle, was that NHRA will be retroactively hitting the combo's from all runs of 1.25 or more under any index. In other words, Boise and Denver will also be counted.

I was under the impression that this rule was already in effect, it does state this under the guidelines for the AHFS, that it includes sea level tracks, which was inserted when the indexes were dropped three tenths. I am not saying that the run didnt deserve the hp, according to the "system", it did trigger the instant hp, but so have others that didnt get the hp. Thats my confusion. I was also told by a tech person that the person in charge of the AHFS could "change the rules anytime he wanted." This seems unfair to me.

Well we are stacked. If anybody is like us and haven't been here before, go past Gate 1 all the way down to Gate 7. Then you climb the hill to a fabulous view at the top. It looks like Mike and Paula are "King and Queen of the Hill". It looked like their rig parked on top. Hey,Mike and Paula, if you are here in stacking come on down. We just got a bite of supper and are going out for a walk and see if we can find anybody we know.

It is really cool and windy.

Well the rig we saw was not the Cotten's. They are still here 1st in line. We walked up there and Macy let us know she was there.

They did not give us a number when we came in, but there appear to be 30-40 rigs in line.

Well it is dark now, so off to bed for us.

More tomorrow.
