I have to differ with your last opinion only. I would change it to read: AHFS is a result of NHRA embarrassed when we go 1-40 under their bunny *** HP factors on some combos. Also, as you and another poster pointed out in stock is the valve spring rule. That along with the massaged intake ports/chambers is what allowed the bigger gains. Either or both would be pretty easy to eliminate. The heads are illegal anyway supposedly, so no loss there. This all started when it became standard policy to change a rule instead of toss a competitor/builder for a year. |

So because im a young and broke, i'm not good enough to run in stock? Because my car is legal as hell, I shouoldn't be aloud to run in Stock? You are saying that low budget cars somehow dong belong in this class? Dont want any of them poor folk in your nice country club. Doesnt matter, i'm not going to flame. But your comments are extremely offensive. At least i post on here with my real name. Come tell me to my face the next time i can afford to race, that i dont belong.

sean,
i mean no disrespect to anyone...however if you are young and broke there are ways to compete in stock inexpensively... talk to jim wahl, mark yacavone, bob shaw etc... these guys have completely LEGAL cars that always qualify in the top ten... WHY ? because they use thier heads instead of thier wallets. and not to piss anyone off... if you cant run -50 on these indexes you need some mentoring... they are that EASY. technology AND NHRA's rules gift shop have rendered the old indexes almost ignorant to anyone with a stock / ss background. still my opinion, its mine and some may not agree... but many do ! captain jack

It is my "noname" opinion that it should be harder to run way under the index then it is now...either that you factor combinations were they should be...improved tech like enginessguy mentioned may be worth something.and is needed..but that aint gonna happen so the only option to sqare things out a little right now is to lower indexes somewhat..may be one way to really se what the combos are capable of beacuse now most racers dont care about the record anymore, the hard work is only gonna render in more lead in the car,10 years ago the record meant everything to a true classracer!!! Sean..sorry if you took it personal but all people cant afford this type of racing if they want a upperclass car or choose a heavy populated class, like i cant afford pro stock, but this is classracing...not bracketracing...and there are low buck alternatives if you look and IHRA has Pure Stock! This is gonna be my "noname" opinion as long as i do this!!! look at the div 1 race,27 didnt get to race in stock...if you took .30 off the indexes..almost all still would have gotten to dial under if they have raced...so whats the point....that you can come in with a rentalcar and make some rounds if your own car broke or some other snag???
