SS:
That was hilarious.. I actually use a spelling add-on in Firefox that flags any mispelled words to save the hassle of someone getting on me about my spelling..

Actually, to be more culturally correct in today's social climate I believe "El Scoopo" would be more appropriate.

Jason,
You don't even know me and you certainly have it wrong. I'm blown away by the lack of writing/communication skills of grown men on this forum, many who write worse than most Third graders. That goes beyond typos. It's actually quite sad, and in many cases hard to read. My English is far from perfect, but holy crap, there are some really poor posts on here. I mean come on, read your post before hitting enter. |

Only the '67 RO-WO package cars had hood scoops and they where all hard tops.
64-65 NASCAR Hemis where all hard top 4-speeds without hood scoops. |

All you Blokes have to understand that Terry is a Cheeky Fellow and when he used the term "Scoope" as in referenced to the Bonnet of the race car; he was using the Queen's English Lexis for "Hood Scoop". So, for all you Gob****e's out there throwing a wobbly with all this rubbish, although many may consider him a geezer, don't let your knickers get all wound up and start to whinge when Terry uses the Queen's Lexis in other posts. ![]() |

I have been racing Chyrsler " MoPar " cars since 1964, mostly on the local level, so I've been around the block a couple of times. I am a MoPar guy through & through with an extensive library of books on MoPars from way back in the day up to the new DP's. Here to my knowledge, is a list of all of the factory cars to come with hood scoops. The 1963 & 1964 aluminum nose max wedge cars. The 1964 & 1965 Hemi B body cars. The 1967 RO-23 Plymouth Belveders,& the WO-23 Dodge Coronets. The 1968 Hemi Barracuds & Darts. There are some 1973 & 1974 Dodge Dart Sports with a scoop, but it is not sealed underneath to the carb. I have searched high and low, going through countless books and tech bullitins and even made a call to Galen Govier, and I cannot find any where that a hood scoop was ever put on anything that Chrysler made in 1966. If it was a legal piece, why don't the other two or three racers in the country who run a 1966 Hemi car have them? I race a 1967 Plymouth GTX and have asked NHRA if the RO-23 scoop would be legal on my car. The two answers I got was, it never came on a GTX with the 440 engine, and it ia ONLY legal in Super Stock with the Hemi engine. I questioned NHRA again, stating that I was going to race a Hemi engine in my car in stock eliminator GTX. Would the scoop now be legal on my car. The answer was no, Super Stock only. I have a scoop, but I don't have the gonads to put it on and show up for a race, as I like racing and having a good time at the track, and don't want to piss anybody off. As for the Judy Lilly post car, to my knowledge it was a one on a kind thing. All 55 Plymouth RO-23 Belveders and all 55 Dodge WO-23 Coronets had the fast back roof line as my GTX. That is 25 cents worth from an old MoPar dude. Happy racing everyone.
