This is just a guess and I could be wrong, but I don't believe he was referring to the quantity produced.

I don't want to put words in his mouth, but the way I took it was he meant bogus factor.

I don't know about your current ride, but any car that can go 2 seconds under the index I would say the factor is just a little off.

I will answer the question then, I would say your Hemi challenger would qualify as a race car but the rest you listed are about as much of a race car as a VW bug. Sure there are spec's in the guide, but most poeple wouldn't think of them as race car may be you do, this not the same situation that we have now with these new under rated cars.

The Turbo dodges have been in the clasification guides since 1984. It's not built by GM?
My Neon is pounds per cubic inch. There is no HP factor. What's your point?
PS I have qualified number 1 at an NHRA event with every car I have raced.

Artie, His point was to take a shot at FWD cars, and therefore at you, in total anonymity .

Nice

No it was not a shot at FWD cars it was a shot at any car that MOST folks would consider not to be a race car, notice the word most. I understand that some can look at a station wagon and see a race car same with a FWD. car but most don't, so these type of cars are far and few, that is why i said it isn't the same as the new under rated cars we have now. I am sorry to the few that think they have a bad ***** station wagon or FWD. car because it will never be a 68 cuda/426 or an L88 vette. imo. Just because it can Qualify up top really doesn't mean much these days anyway.

I'm happy in your anonomous world 68 Hemi Barracudas and L88 Vettes are allowed in stock.
In the real world you can buy a DP or a CJ for what the body would cost for a SS/AH car

Talking Re: Superb Article On Current State of Stock Eliminator

I'm real sorry i used two of the greatest muscle cars made to make a point so i will try again because i'm sure you will never get it anyway. Let me change them to a 1970 hemi cuda or a 1970 LS6 chevelle, MOST would call these race cars, MOST! very few would call a neon a race car. but to each there own. but this has nothing to do with what is happening to stock eliminator at this time, so there you go!!!

So people with station wagons and FWD cars are not considered to have "real" racecars?

Looks like I have a real racecar in my book.

On a side note it is a great article, however it isnt anything that will probably catch the eye of the NHRA. FX classes would seem to help both parties.
