Original hemi dart information

i found a picture online of the yellow Bruce Hawk driven car which i think is one of the "built" by Mancini, not by Hurst Darts. still if that car is still around it's very cool and i think an important "historical" racecar. IIRC this should be the yellow Dart with the strobe over the roof.

How anyone could walk into a Dodge or Plymouth dealership in early 1968, and order a Hemi Super/Stocker.
NOT.
First off, not every dealership got an announcement letter.
We had quite a few dealerships in our area. Most of them never even heard of the Super/Stock Hemi Program and/or cars in early 68'.

Second off, you had to go through the Regional Office. I'm sure a
couple of them fell through the cracks.

What car are you reffering to - Dell's devil - John Bullock?
I seem to recall reading that a guy who drove a 67 Dodge Hemi S/S for Boch Dodge was supposed to get a new Hemi dart - I will have to look up the guy's name - ring any bells?

Yes I heard that the Wilke's have the shell of one of Mancini's Darts. Ron's first Dart was originally owned by Gil Clark. Mopar68 - I got the pics - Thanks!
If I am correct the front suspension issue was a bump steer one and the lower ball joints/steering arms were bent to correct it.
I have also heard of a shortage of Danas - remember these were special ordered from dana w/ 4.88 gears - not the off the shelf B-Body axle.

I've been lurking for a couple of years and joined just to add one more Dart that I have not seen mentioned.

A homebuilder, Joe Ralph Thompson from Rison Arkansas, ran a red Hemi Dart. I remember there was also a PHR ( I believe) centerspread on it from a Texas race one year as a Pro Stock. I believe Gene Graham was the driver. It was set up at Sox and Martin. Don't know if it was a real one or a clone. I was a teenager and didn't know what a clone was.

Saw it at Carlisle and Stuttgart Dragway (Arkansas) a few times and then it vanished.

Dwight Southerland might remember this car.
