If NHRA could get Steele, Alabama (or Palm Beach, though I know it doesn't help the northern part) back into the fold you would see a lot more balance in Division 2.

My #1/2 suggestions are to either have a bonus race on Friday night, or to run a two-day schedule and finish on Saturday night. Currently it's a lot of time away from home for one race.
don't forget montgomery which jumped to IHRA, simply because they got NO support from NHRA

I agree. I've looked at attending some NHRA races this year, but the scheduling is ridiculous. I'm self-employed, and I'd still have a hard time making the time commitment required by some of these 4 and 5 day races. They did Englishtown in two days... it can be done! If they were on-track 1-2 days less, they would save on the added days of insurance, and could lower the entry fees (yah, right!). Let people pay for a test n' tune the day before if they need the additional track time. $170 for a Divisional race is insane, in my opinion.

...and the racers didn't support *them* this year. Jim Howard and crew really care about the racers and did an outstanding job with the event. He's willing to stick his neck out and do the event again next year. Please, racers, support them and put the Montgomery race on your schedule!

Hopefull the new guy will take over with a new energy that is lacking with the current leadership. We rarley get a first time run before noon at the division 2 points races. We never used to have a problem getting our qualifing runs completed. Bill is getting older and did not have the energy to get the events rolling earlier in the day. he also wanted to get done early in the evening. I think he also liked to bunch up the races so he could get his season over in a shorter period of time. That would lessen his work load over the summer months. No racing. Not much to do. The short car counts are due to the increased cost of everything. Spacing out the races at least a month in between any races in the division would result in increased participation. It would sure help me.

I couldn't agree with you more on that!
