So please explain to me how roll control works in a modern transmision. I have never noticed car companys touting this new advancment. But I must admit I have not really looked either. Do they hold the car still at iddle but let it move just above that or will it act as a trans brake.

The customer do notice it when the function atomatically engage when standing still with the car in D in a steep hill...the car doesn't roll backwards even if you step of the trottle and don't use the brakes. I will remain in the same position until you floor it. In my mind the same function as a transbrake...
