I had the understanding that B.I.R.
was NOT going to host a S / SS program in 2011 IF the number of people racing did not go up in 2010 The way it looked to me the numbers were about the same this year as 2009? Anyone have info on this? |

sure hope they have a program, it would suck to drive another 4 hrs just to race stk/ss
might just be a deal breaker for a lot of people. it would be sad as we have one of the nicer facilities in the country. I know i will be there more next yr if they have a program as my (hockey schedule from hell) will be greatly reduced.

All I can say is 'Good Luck' because from what I have heard in the "rumor mill" is that ALL Super Classes will be gone in 2011. Brackets only.
The S/SS Combo would be a simple fix in my opinion. Guaranteed Purse. Sell some advertising at the track to pay for it. Promote it, get some butts in the stands. The past 3 years I have been racing all over the mid-west, BIR is by far the nicest track (Next to Route 66) BUT has the worst payout for a S/SS combo. Way too high an entry fee, and way too low payout. Go to ANY of the Combos at Thundervalley, Oahe, Tri-State and pay $80-100 and race for over $1k to win. Oh, and it's a 2-day event! There are over 50 some 'class' cars in MN alone. Why don't they run at BIR? In my opinion, BIR has done a poor job handling the class, and the racer's by charging them for every little thing.

I know things come along that take us away from racing. Weddings, Grad. Party, Sports etc. The list goes on... As far as pay-out I still say that in any race you have ONLY ONE WINNER AND IT IS USUALLY NOT ME! However IF we had more people racing the pay-out WOULD go up. I do however think that we ( stock & super stock racers) need to do a bit of campaigning to keep the BIR S/SS Program going. I don't think the owner or manager of BIR reads this forum. Maybe we can call or e-mail them and let them know we would like to keep it gong. How about the USA group are we being pro-active on this? I hope we don't just let it slip away! I think this is important to all stock & super stock racers in the MN, WI, ND, SD, areas (& AND LETS NOT FORGET OUR MT. AND CANADIAN FRIENDS) Glen DeMenge |

Hi Everyone
I see over 800 have looked at this only 2 replies. Well, some may not have an account on here or what ever I do think we need to be pro-active on this. Lets contact B I R in some way (e-mail ) (phone) The web site has a place for comments and the phone numbers on it. Let them know we would like to keep the s/ss program going for 2011. HERE IS A LINK TO THE B I R WEB PAGE http://www.brainerdraceway.com/component/form/index.php Thanks!!! Glen DeMENGE |
