Put a good seat in that can be bolted to the rollbar.
I agree 110%, I've asked for race seats since 07. Weight is pretty much a non issue to me. Even with my fat 250lb *** in the seat our vette is 55lbs light for AA with no lead and my I/SA 92 camaro is 50lbs light for H/SA with no lead ( and it has stock brakes, older heavy wheels).

Ken, let me start by saying how glad I am to see that you're doing much better and looking forward to your complete recovery. Your picture from your accident made me think that at any moment some catastrophe can hapened quite quick in Drag Racing(something we put out of our minds everytime we strap ourselves in our cars). Seeing how the car folded in two made me think that having racing seats is a must in Stock eleminator. Did you retained the factory telescopic steering column? You're right the battery should be in the back, I hope that NHRA will accept your findinds. Good luck in your recovery. Claude

Unreal, the seat rule has baffled me for years. Seats break all of the time in minor highway accidents. Racing seats should be mandatory as well as the other items mentioned. My dad was hit in the 1980`s by a work truck, seat broke at the stop light at low speed. Safety first and foremost, hope it is all adopted.

Ken's car had full functional OEM column unlike many other stockers...it is totally collapsed but impact was so great the collapsed column broke out of dash and into his face like a javelin .

The seat's would make these cars much safer, that's common sense.
