X2 on that being a good one...that's my reaction when I first read the thread title. I sure as heck don't fear any driver but even the very best drivers sometimes cringe when they see who they've drawn....think it's a matter of respect for what they've accomplished consistently both at the tree and at the finish line. From that perspective then Fletcher definitely ranks right up there.

If you fear lining up and racing somebody, you've already lost!!!
The one person I don't want to race next season is my brother! I was 0-3 against him this season! Just glad 2 of them were in finals!! |

[QUOTE=Bryan Worner;220785]If you fear lining up and racing somebody, you've already lost!!!
QUOTE] might as well sit home and save money. if you strap yourself into any race car and think you can not win why race! Anything can happen, everyone is human. Its the same as life, if you think negative and say you cant, why get out of bed in the morning!!! And take nothing against the best of the best in racing or any form of competition, but you never know and will never know unless you give it your all. If you get a chance read the article on Tony Schumacher in this months Road and Track, he is a great competitor!! |

It's easy to find out who is the most revered racer in any class. Look at the stats and see who had the most double "0" and "red" lights against them.....that's your guy! The respect of the opponent causes them to take a chance in a game of thousandths. A good racer does'nt approach .000 unless he feels he has to. Thus (revered, feared) The problem is that the revered racer ie Fletch, Biondo, P-Ryan, DeFrank etc, has a guy/gal holding a pair of scissors over your family jewels sack. Sometimes they get um....somethimes they don't........but make no mistake...they're goin for um! So check um out fellas, if you find alot of scars and scratches.......YOU ARE THE MAN ! LOL
Can't wait to race with you folks Wade Mahaffey |

Wade is right. Look for the guy who everyone "throws a Hail Mary" at.
Being as good as those guys (Fletcher, Biondo, Bertozzi, etc) are is a double edged sword. Nearly everyone they race is throwing a Hail Mary at them. Odds are, out of every 4-5 guys throw a Hail Mary, one will connect. That means in a 6-7 round race, one of those guys will connect more often than not, the only question is "what round"? Not only that, when they race each other, they "get up" for it. And those guys know how to tighten a 0.025 average up to an 0.010 or better.

Fletcher sure gets his share of gift (red-light) wins. Now that's star power!
