Does anyone know of a piston manufacturer that has a stock legal piston for the 225hp 265? I cannot find one in the NHRA guide, but would think that someone is making them for the IHRA folks.
Thanks Chad |

If it is not on the NHRA list, it is not an NHRA approved part, even if IHRA has approved it. So, no matter what, if you want to race NHRA Stock Eliminator, you have to go through the replacement piston approval process.

Chad- call diamond piston, the part number is 265-195. they are ihra approved, we had them made in 2008. all that is left to do is to get them nhra approved.

IHRA has a different piston rule for stock in the last several years. Only the top (combustion chamber side) of the piston has to "LOOK" correct when viewed from an assembled short block. The dish/dome still have to measure correct. They dont care what it is like below the deck (moved rings, thinner ring pack, lite pins, lite pistons, valve relief location and depth, etc.). They DO NOT want to look at a piston and rod out of the engine. Sometimes they do want to have an oil pan removed to eyeball the crank.
